For Shiemi, Rin is an important and central figure in her life. Although their first meeting was rocky, he helped her to realize the importance of not letting grief control her life and saving from a demon preying on her heart-broken state. When his heritage became known, Shiemi ran away not because she was scared but because she believed herself to be a bad friend. They are able to reconnect and Shiemi has since promised to be his friend 'forever and ever' much to her delight. A part of her worries over the year that separates them in Ryslig but she's promised to stay by his side. Like Yukio, she trusts Rin completely.

Having met two years prior, Yukio (or Yuki-chan) is also an important and central figure in her life. Really, he's her first real friend even though she wonders if he sees her as one too or just a student. He saved her life from a demon taking advantage of her grief and has helped her be able to attend school proper. Honestly, she looks up to him with such admiration but lately she has begun to worry and can see that Yukio has begun to push them further and further away. She wishes to help him as he has done for her... but has no idea where to start. Nevertheless, she trusts him completely.
